I think I could chuck my own 'modular' format in the bin and use https://noisemaker.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ for the underlying implementation in sigil. I just want a performable AV thing and to customize engines / modules really. I could lose a lot of time chasing my tail expanding from the current small set to the full gamut.

We'll have to think about how mapping touches to parameters should actually work for various modules though.

I can just buy Noisedeck ultimately but idk if it will offer the interaction I am after. Maybe we also need to build a touch -> MIDI mapper, but there's something you lose going from continuous touches to MIDI...
